These bells are relatively modern and were probably produced in the last 40 years. they are made of sheet steel and dipped in copper or brass. SS Sarna sold similar bells in the 1950s-1960s on yarn strings. These are attached to a crudely made horse bit and were likely made in Iran prior to the Shia revolution in the mid 1970s. They might also have been produced in Afganistan at around the same time since both countries utilize horses extensively in their tribal areas.
