Here are a few Youtube videos featuring esquilas and other full-circle Spanish-style bells. They come in all sizes, from typical Mexican bells of around 20″ to huge Spanish bells of 50″ and more. I believe that the term “esquilas” is used mainly for smaller bells. I don’t know why, but most Spanish and Latin American bells have nondescript, chaotic tone compared with the bells of other parts of Europe.
